The Game Awards Rebrand Concept




  OVERVIEW
 
The Game Awards is an awards ceremony that recognizes achievements in the video game industry. The ceremony highights both creative and technical prowess from game designers and studios worldwide. The ceremony was established in 2014 and is produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley, a Canadian games journalist.

The current branding for The Game Awards is sleek and minimal. It utilizes simplistic 3D enviroments and dramatic lighting.



  TREATMENT

Video games are such a fantastic storytelling medium because of their ability to completely immerse the player in a different reality. This concept highlights this ability by pushing absurdity to its extremes. Emulating video game glitches, this concept will bend, warp, and distort 3D enviroments as well as typography to achieve an otherworldly, “intentionally broken” feel.
